Abstract
This research investigated the effect of parent-child attachment on academic achievement, leadership life skills and peer relations in a sample of 388 elementary and middle school students in Seoul, Korea. Compared to previous research that focuses on a particular age group independently, the current study compares and contrasts two groups-elementary and middle school students regarding different effects of attachment relationships on the developmental stage. The results indicate that students with higher attachment relationships demonstrate better academic achievement, leadership life skills and peer relations. With regards to peer relations among middle school students however, those with lower attachment relationships demonstrated higher peer relationships.
